Designed for the UK education sector, our software now means that students and children are no longer required to either carry around or pay for their establishment purchases with cash. Instead, parents or the students ‘pre-load’ their cashless accounts with funds. This process can either take place on site, using a dedicated device, or online.
In a secondary school, in order to pay for a meal, the account is accessed with the use of either an identity card (supplied by Gladstone Education), or a biometric deployment via fingerprint recognition.
In the case of primary schools, Gladstone’s meal ordering and registration software is unique in the market, combining three administrative processes: a.m. and p.m. whole class registration; meal ordering and payments. Payment is associated with the child by picture and, using touch screen technology, the catering staff will allocate the selected meal at lunch to the child, removing the need for any complicated process or for the child to carry an identity key.
