Project Management

Gladstone Education project managers work in close consultation with clients to:

  • establish project objectives and clients benefits
  • specify operation and key performance indicator (KPI) changes
  • develop a detailed project plan
  • monitor project activities, ensuring that they are objective-driven
  • hold regular reviews, issue project status reports and ensure all procedures and systems are utilised effectively
  • organise training, coordinate installations and offer continuous support

Project Managers define the project's business objectives. Benefits of the plan can be both financial and non-financial and include specifying changes in operational and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Feasibility studies prepare for the project's initiation, enabling the Project Manager to ensure that the proposed plan is viable in financial, operational and technical terms.

PRINCE2

Gladstone Education projects are managed using the PRINCE2 methodology. Depending on the size of the project and the requirements of the customer, Gladstone Education project managers will endeavour to use the PRINCE2 approach and documentation to obtain a successful implementation.

1. SU - Start-Up

During the start-up phase of the project, Gladstone Education and the customer will prepare to scope and plan the project, including a meeting of all relevant parties involved to establish a common understanding of the project objectives.

2. IP - Initiating a project

The initiation documentation will be produced as a result of the Project Start-Up meeting to define how the project will be implemented. The customer will receive an initial Project Implementation Pack (PIP). This includes:

  • start up meeting notes including action points
  • project schedules
  • communication plan
  • Gantt chart (and other documents as required)

3. CS - Controlling a stage / SB - Managing stage boundaries

The project may be considered as one complete stage or several individual stages depending on size, duration and complexity of requirements. This will be decided between the customer and the Gladstone Education project manager during the Start-Up meeting.

4. CP - Closing a project

Once the project has been completed, the Project Team will need to formally agree to the closure of the project, and the customer will be informed of the contacts within Gladstone Education for future requirements.
